John Oeillet works in the gardens at Durrell
'My daughter-in-law is employed by Durrell. She said to me, “...you like gardening, you can volunteer to work at the Zoo.” I work with a wonderful team helping to look after some of the gardens. We plant and weed and help to keep the gardens looking nice and tidy.
'I look forward to Wednesday at the Zoo, every week is different. It is so rewarding when you see the gardens bloom to life and to talk to visitors at the Zoo and listen to their rewarding comments is just priceless.
'Please come along and arrange to speak with someone over a cup of tea or coffee. They will put you at ease and discuss what various tasks are available. You will not be disappointed, it’s just a wonderful experience. So! Give it a go.
